GROUP MUSIC THERAPY

We offer a multitude of group programming options from music & imagery groups, tone chime choirs, and music variety programs, to ukulele strumming bands, drum circles, and much, much more. Embe Music Therapy works with you to find the best group programs for your needs. Participants receive the support of both the therapist and group members, ideal for targeting social goals. Please inquire for a full list of programming we offer.

INDIVIDUAL MUSIC THERAPY

One to one music therapy is a much more intimate experience, with a treatment plan catered solely to the person receiving therapy. Depending on the therapy goals, sessions can include learning (or relearning) an instrument, songwriting, personalized recordings, musical legacy projects, and more. Individual sessions are better for intensive work processes in meeting emotional goals, those who require bedside care, or who are socially isolated.

VOLUNTEER PLACEMENTS

We love our volunteers! Maryann has worked in partnership and provided supervision to over fifteen volunteers, four of whom are working on becoming music therapists themselves. We happily host music therapy volunteers who are looking for work experience in relevant fields.

GUIDED IMAGERY & MUSIC (GIM)

Maryann is currently working towards a post graduate specialization in the Guided Imagery & Music method of music psychotherapy (Level 2/3D Statement of Completion, Association for Music & Imagery). This method explores the human psyche through the unconsciousness, supported by western classical music and guided by the therapist. Mandala drawing (Mandala Assessment Research Instrument), creative process work and verbal counseling play vital roles during the session. GIM benefits clients experiencing depression, anxiety, grief, trauma, relationship challenges, unresolved physical health problems, and more. At this level of training, Maryann offers group imaging sessions only.
